Maintain the boundaries of work life and home life.

It may help to keep your work isolated from other parts of the house where you usually participate in leisurely activities. For example, instead of working from the couch, instead sit at a desk. This will put you in the right frame of mind when you sit down to work.

Minimise distracting background noise.

Make sure that when you sit down to study you’re in a place where you don’t become distracted by things going on around in the home. These include things that may tempt you such as your mobile phone or the television. Although it is comfortable to work from home, make sure that you’re working in an environment where you can be most efficient.

Schedule regular breaks.

It’s important that you give yourself a break when studying. Short breaks will help you be more productive in the long run. A good idea is to schedule when you will take these breaks before you start working.

Set small goals for yourself.

It’s great to set yourself goals in life. By striving to achieve small goals every day, you’re working towards completing your much larger ones! Start day by asking yourself what you want to achieve that day and writing down a small plan as to how you are going to achieve this.
