Student Information Policy
How we tell you what you need to know about your course, fees, support and rights.
Purpose
This policy explains the information TalentMed provides to current and prospective students, when we provide it, and how we keep it accurate. It applies to information from TalentMed and from anyone working on our behalf.
Our aim is simple. You should have the information you need to make a confident decision about studying with us, and the information you need to succeed once you are enrolled.
Information you receive before you enrol
Before you enrol, we make the following information easily available about each course we offer:
- The training product code and title (for example, HLT50321 Diploma of Clinical Coding)
- Whether the training product is current on the National Register
- Course duration, scheduling, and intake dates
- Delivery modes and locations (most TalentMed courses are 100% online)
- Training and assessment arrangements
- Work placement requirements, if any
- Entry requirements and prerequisites
- Any licensing or regulatory requirements that apply
- Career pathways the course supports
- Any third-party arrangements that affect how the course is delivered
For fees and payment, we publish:
- All fees, costs, and charges associated with the course
- Payment terms and conditions
- Refund arrangements
- VET Student Loans information for the course it applies to (HLT57715 only)
- Any government subsidies or entitlements available
For support, we tell you about:
- Learning support services available
- Wellbeing support services available
- Reasonable adjustment provisions
- How to access these services
What you receive in writing before you pay any fees
Before you pay any fees, you will receive written documentation that sets out:
- The training and assessment that TalentMed (and any third party) will provide
- All fees, costs, and charges you will be required to pay
- Your rights and obligations as a student
- TalentMed’s obligations to you
This is your enrolment agreement. Read it carefully. If anything is unclear, contact us before signing.
Checking the course is right for you
Before you enrol, we run a short pre-training review with you. We ask about your background, what you want to get from the course, and any support needs. Where the course requires it, we also ask you to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) check. The aim is to confirm the course is a good fit before you commit.
If we think a course is not the right fit for you right now, we will say so and suggest alternatives where we can.
Changes to your course or our services
If something material changes that affects you, we will tell you as soon as practicable. This includes:
- Changes to course content, delivery, or schedule
- Changes to our operations that affect your training
- Changes to third-party arrangements that affect your course
- Any other change that materially affects you as a student
Where a training product on our scope is superseded, deleted, or expired, we will work with you to either complete the current version within the allowed transition period, or transition you to the replacement, whichever works best for you. You will not be disadvantaged by a transition.
Keeping our information accurate
We review the information we publish about our courses and services at least once a year, and update it sooner whenever a training product or service changes.
You can find our information through:
- Our website at talentmed.edu.au
- Our Student Handbook
- Our published policies (linked at the bottom of this page)
- Our learning management system once you are enrolled
- Direct conversations with our support team
If you spot something that looks out of date or inconsistent, please let us know.
Making information accessible
We aim to write information in plain, clear language. We try to keep our materials free from misleading statements or comparisons.
If you need information in a different format, contact us. We will discuss reasonable options. This includes alternative formats and arranging support where appropriate.
Marketing and advertising
All of our marketing and advertising follows the same rules:
- Information is accurate and factual
- TalentMed’s name and RTO code (RTO 22151) is identified
- Only currently approved training products are promoted
- Nationally recognised training is clearly distinguished from any other training
- The Nationally Recognised Training (NRT) logo is used only where its conditions of use allow
- We do not guarantee employment outcomes, completion, or migration outcomes
For the full marketing standard we apply, see the Marketing and Advertising Policy.
Privacy and your student records
We collect, use, and disclose your personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. We keep your records secure and only share them where the law allows or you have given consent.
