When you think about medical transcription as a career, there’s not a lot of everyday experience to go off.

Because we don’t usually see or hear a medical transcriptionist (MT) working at a local hospital or medical clinic – the role of an MT is often misunderstood. Interestingly however, when we open a letter from a doctor, or read a medical report, there is a very high chance that a professional MT has transcribed it.

With more than twenty-three million people in Australia all requiring some level of healthcare, the medical records and documentation industry is certainly in-demand.

    How much is your course and what is the time frame?
    Do you have any statistics to demonstrate what percentage of your graduates gain employment within 12 months of completing your course?

    I currently live & work in Malaysia . My son who is working as a do pyro in Au wants us to move to Au. So I m thinking of doing this online course whic wld help me make a living whilst I m there. I need to know the fees & ifs here us an age criteria to employment as a MT also wld like an assurance on job emplacement tq regards

      Thank you for your comment. It is great to hear you are interested in a career as a Medical Transcriptionist.
      TalentMed’s Diploma of Healthcare Documentation has a 12 month duration, however can be completed online in as little as six months. In terms of the fees, a current statement of fees is available here, under the tuition tab.
      There are many career choices for our graduates. Once you complete the course, your Graduate Support team will provide you with extensive job search assistance. This includes personalised advice on your resume, job hunt and application process. Please note however, TalentMed is unable to guarantee any positions as a registered training organisation and not an employer directly. Having said that, through our network of associated Recruitment Partners, we have been able to help place a high number of graduates into these positions upon course completion. There is also no age limits for Medical Transcriptionists, or to do the course.
